Smell Board is a plug-in module ready to use with your system of choice. It is an electronic nose device, which makes on-board real-time smell recognition possible. Smell Board communicates to a host device via UART, SPI or I²C.

Smell Board consists of a main board with signal processing electronics and a replaceable sensor board with four multi-channel Smell iX16 gas detector chips based on nanomaterials. Interaction with different gas molecules changes the resistance of each channel in a different way. For every smell, gas or gas mixture, Smell Board measures a specific pattern, a digital smell fingerprint. These patterns are processed and then used for real-time smell recognition.

Smell Board can be connected to a PC via USB-UART-Converter (included) or other base station. Like Smell Inspector, it can also be operated with AI based software Smell Annotator (included).

Smell Board comes with a pre-installed example for smell recognition for ammonia and hydrogen sulfide.
